Delivering new build and large-scale building upgrade projects in Wellington, our Client has now created a Health and Safety Manager position that will allow you to develop and manage a Health and Safety culture that will engage all employees to ensure that best practice is met and that all go home safely at the end of the working dayp>


Applications are sought from Health and Safety specialists who can demonstrate the following:

Circa 5 years experience in a Health and Safety role within construction

Relevant Health and Safety qualification

Working understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act

Effective communication skills

Ability to influence others to adopt best practice

Working with an engaged leadership team, your work will have an impact on sites and across the business as you lead the safety culture, your duties will include:

Develop and administer the Health, Safety and Wellness Policy

Take ownership of on-site health and safety systems and ensure they are to legislative and best practise standards

Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at

Work Act

Produce monthly company H&S reports, providing data and progress at company and site levels

Keep up-to-date with new legislation and industry developments and ensure all changes to policies and legislation are communicated to all staff

In conjunction with the leadership team develop a proactive, safety focused culture which engages all employees

Carry out regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and monitor prompt resolution of any non compliance issues

Participate in project audits and site inspections to ensure the Company policies and systems are utilised

Implement corrective actions

Actively involve site teams in audits

Administer and record accident and incident investigations including ACC claims and Worksafe notifications
